Going to Court is the final step of the bankruptcy process. Before contacting the Court and organising a time and date to apply for a Bankruptcy Order you first need to think about your options.
Personal bankruptcy will clear all of your current unsecured debts, but in doing so it is going to remain on your Credit History for six years, which will hinder your future borrowing during that timeframe. An alternative method of insolvency is an IVA, which may be ideal for those who have equity to protect, or a profession which is excluded from personal bankruptcy.
If personal bankruptcy certainly is the right choice for you, then the required paperwork will eventually be submitted to your local County Court.
