Going to Court will be the final step of the bankruptcy process. Prior to phoning the Court and organising a time and date to apply for a Bankruptcy Order you first need to think about the options.
Personal bankruptcy will clear all of your current unsecured debts, but in doing so it will remain on your Credit History for six years, which can cause problems for your future borrowing during that timeframe. Another method of insolvency is an IVA, which could be ideal in case you have equity to protect, or a job that is excluded from bankruptcy.
If bankruptcy is definitely the right choice for you, then the necessary documentation will eventually be filed at your local County Court.
