Going to Court is the final step of the bankruptcy process. Prior to speaking to the Court and arranging a time and date to apply for a Bankruptcy Order you first need to think about the options.
Bankruptcy will clear all of your unsecured debts, but in doing so it's going to stay on your Credit File for six years, which will affect your future borrowing during that timeframe. Another form of insolvency is an IVA, which might be suitable in case you have equity to protect, or a job that is excluded from bankruptcy.
If personal bankruptcy is definitely the answer you're looking for, then the necessary paperwork will eventually be submitted to your local County Court.
